Do I need to notify the parent that does not have the legal domicile of the child, of the intended transfer of the child's legal domicile?

Yes, the parent must give the other parent at least six weeks notice if they intend to move their domicile and/or that of the child, either inside or outside Iceland. Both parents are obliged to notify the other, irrespective of the nature of the custody.

Further information on the legal domicile of a child can be found here.
