Management of TR

According to the Social Security Act, the minister appoints a five-member board of the National Insurance Institute, one of whom shall be appointed chairman and another vice-chairman.

The director is appointed by the minister for a five-year term, the minister appoints a three-person committee to assess the suitability of candidates for the position. Huld Magnúsdóttir was appointed CEO on June 1, 2022.

The role of the board is to confirm the structure of the organization, the annual work and budget and set a long-term strategy for it. Furthermore, the board has to supervise the activities of the Insurance Agency and that the operation is within the framework of the budget at all times.

The current board of TR was appointed on March 22, 2022.
