District Commissioners: Legal guardianship
Is a legal guardian entitled to compensation for their services?
The district commissioner determines the amount of compensation for an appointed legal guardian, considering the nature and scope of the work. If the appointed legal guardian is a close relative of the person deprived of legal capacity, they are generally not paid compensation.
Usually, the compensation is paid by the person deprived of legal capacity, but in exceptional cases, it is paid from the state treasury.
