How long can the deprivation of legal capacity last?

The deprivation of legal capacity can last for six months or longer. It automatically ceases at the end of the deprivation period unless a request for its extension has been made to the court beforehand.
A request can be submitted to the district court to terminate the deprivation of legal capacity if the reasons for the deprivation no longer exist.

Further information on legal capacity, personal autonomy, and financial management can be found here.
