District Commissioners: Legal guardianship
If an individual who is financially competent wishes to have another person manage their finances, what steps can be taken?
A financially competent individual who is unable to manage their finances, for example due to illness or disability, may request the appointment of a financial guardian by the district commissioner for specific assets.
Once a guardian has been appointed over an asset, the individual loses the right to dispose of that asset independently.
Further information regarding the appointment of financial guardians can be found here.
