The objective of Sjónstöðin is to increase the ability of blind, visually impaired and those with integrated vision and hearing impairment to participate in the society and to provide them with counselling.
All counselling is individualized and in consultation with individuals.
Advisors provide special education guidance, assessment, and allocation and instruction of assistive devices.

Advisors from Sjónstöðin provide education and advice to service and care providers. They can:
visit workplaces, schools, institutions and homes to assess conditions and accessibility
propose improvements in line with the individual needs
