New laboratory biophysics study – NO measurement

A new device has been introduced to the laboratory of physiology at the Akureyri Hospital. The device measures the presence of nitrogen oxide (FeNO) in the air, an easy and sensitive method to measure active inflammatory airways, which is among the main symptoms of asthma.

New X-ray physician at Akureyri Hospital

The medical imaging department of the Akureyri Hospital has hired Christine Jacqueline Tolman as the position of X-ray physician. She starts today and will be at SAk for at least one year.

SAk staff at the European Emergency Medical Conference (EUSEM)

In October, the annual conference was held by the Association of Emergency Medical Practitioners in Europe in Copenhagen. The conference was very well attended and a total of 86 people from Iceland; doctors, nurses and emergency medical technician. Two emergency doctors and four nurses from SAk’s ER attended the conference.
