Physiotherapy Students from the University of Iceland Gained Insight into SAk's Rehabilitation Services
24th January 2025
The Rehabilitation Department of SAk at Kristnes was presented as an exciting workplace.
Recently, SAk physiotherapists welcomed a group of enthusiastic physiotherapy students from the University of Iceland. The students visited the north as part of a scientific trip and received an introduction to the diverse and dynamic work of physiotherapists at Kristnes.
After a tour and an introduction to the facilities, light refreshments were offered, along with an informal chat. During the evening’s Kahoot competition, participants engaged in a lively contest featuring questions about SAk’s operations and the benefits of living and working in Akureyri. “The students were very pleased with the visit and impressed by the facilities. Most of them had not realized the scope of operations at Kristnes,” said Ragnhildur Jónsdóttir, Head Physiotherapist, who, along with her colleagues, warmly welcomed the group.
Building Connections with Students Early in Their Studies
“Presentations for healthcare professions play a key role in introducing SAk as an appealing future workplace. In this way, we hope to establish connections with more students early in their studies and spark their interest in working at Akureyri Hospital,” said Kristjana Kristjánsdóttir, Head of the Human Resources Department.
