Paediatric ward: Other than parents or guardians from 14-20
Intensive care unit only by appointment
Kristnes hospital from 16-18
Maternity ward: Visits are not allowed except in exceptional cases
Two visitors are allowed per visiting time, except in exceptional cases and in consultation with departmental staff.
Visitors with symptoms of respiratory infections are not allowed to visit.

An appointment or telephone interview with a doctor can be made at a medical office or through a switchboard.

Visit of the Minister of Health to SAk
Minister of Health Alma Möller, Member of Parliament for the Northeast Constituency Eydís Ásbjörnsdóttir, and the Minister’s Assistant Jón Magnús Kristjánsson visited SAk today. Hildigunnur Svavarsdóttir, CEO of SAk, and Minister Alma Möller described the visit as highly enjoyable.
Enhanced Services for Kidney Patients at SAk
A considerable number of people living in Northeast Iceland have until now had to travel south over the highlands to see a nephrologist. On a monthly basis, it is estimated that 20-25 individuals have had to make this journey for that purpose. Now, preparations have officially begun to ensure that, going forward, nephrologists from Landspítali will visit SAk every six weeks for two days at a time.
