Failure to log odometer reading
Consequences of not logging an odometer reading at least once each calendar year:
A penalty fee of 50,000 ISK will be collected after January 30th.
Vehicle owner will be summoned to an appointment for an odometer reading a certified inspection site.
The penalty fee for not logging an odometer reading will be reduced by 50% if you have the odometer read with a certified inspection body within 15 days.
If logging an entry has not been completed three months after the penalty fee has been imposed, the police may remove the vehicle license plates. The license plates will be returned to the owner once odometer reading with a certified inspection body has taken place.
