Children's domicile and its effects
Legal domicile of the child in a split residence
When parents have made an agreement on the split residence of a child, the child shall be considered to have permanent residence with both of them. Parents shall jointly make all decisions about the child, irrespective of registration at the legal domicile.
The parents may not request child maintenance or a special contribution from the other parent. The parents shall have an agreement on the maintenance of the child/children.
Child benefits are paid to both parents based on family status at the end of the year. (To be implemented in 2023)
If the agreement on split residence is cancelled, the child remains domiciled with the parent with whom he/she was registered as domiciled before the agreement was implemented.
