Land and Forest oversees the implementation of wetland restoration on behalf of the state, according to the climate action plan from 2016.

The goal is to restore wetland ecosystems and reduce greenhouse gas emissions with scientific follow-up and measurements.

Main actions:

• provide grants and advice for wetland restoration

• assess results through visual inspection, water level measurements, and regular monitoring

• monitor groundwater levels, soil temperature, carbon and methane emissions, and changes in vegetation
