A fee is charged for the statutory inspections of X-ray devices and radioactive materials. Fees are also charged for the assessment of license applications and for other services. The fee is in accordance with the applicable tariff. The valid tariff is published on Stjórnartíðindi website

Inspection

The inspection fee may be reduced by 50% when it is not necessary to go to the site, but it is sufficient to review data and measurements. This applies to places where no comments were made on the last inspection and the operations remain unchanged.

Applications

Note that in the case of new or altered premises, shielding of the premises must be approved before a licence is issued. Collection for approving shielding is done separately.

Other services

There is a fee collected for various measurements or specialist work carried out by the Icelandic Radiation Safety Authority.
