On the Ísland.is service website, people identify themselves with electronic IDs and those who are entitled to Loftbrú receive an overview of their rights. Those who want to take advantage of the discount can download a special discount code from the same page that is used on airline booking sites when booking a scheduled flight.
The discount is calculated on the total fare, i.e. airfare, airport fees, as well as other fees charged by airlines.
Airlines are responsible for the availability and pricing of airfares.
Those who do not have access to electronic ID can apply for a discount code from the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration (IRCA). Processing discount codes takes 2 – 14 days and processing time depends on the delivery method. If self-service on is not used, a code can be requested in the following manner:
