Students in the Nordic countries are obliged to move their legal domicile from Iceland, as a result of which the individuals are excluded from the system in Iceland. However, students in the Nordic countries who come to Iceland during the course of their studies are entitled to temporary health insurance while they stay in Iceland. An application must be submitted: "Tímabundin sjúkratrygging, námsmenn á Norðurlöndum", together with a new confirmation of studies.
