Who should have patient insurance?
The Act on Patient Insurance states: Healthcare centres, hospitals and other health institutions operated by non-states or municipalities, as well as healthcare workers who work independently and have been authorized by the Directorate of Health to use the professional title of a licensed health profession, regardless of whether they provide healthcare services that the patient pays in full or that are paid by the health insurance institution under contract on the basis of the Act on Health Insurance, are obliged to pay a premium to the health insurance institution that shall be responsible for patient insurance, according to the Regulation on Premiums, No. 1690/2024.
