Rules regarding saithe catches
Coastal fishing boats may land saithe without this catch being calculated as part of the coastal catch. The following conditions apply to that catch in saithe:
The catch must be kept separate from the other catches of the boat and weighed and recorded separately.
The catch must be sold on a recognized auction market and its proceeds are paid to the VS Fund, the Fisheries Project Fund.
If this authorization is exercised, the guardians of the auction market in which the catch is sold shall pay the proceeds of the catch sold, net of the port fees and the cost of the auction to the VS fund. The operator of the ship shall also receive 80% of the value of the catch sold, divided between the operator and the crew according to agreements there of.
