During the period May, June, July and August, it is permitted to catch with hand reels up to 10,000 tons of cod, 1,000 tons of saithe and 100 tons of golden redfish in coastal fishing.
Each coastal fishing boat may engage in 12 days of fishing within each month.
Fishing may not take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Fishing is also prohibited on public holidays.
Each fishing trip may not last longer than 14 hours and only one fishing trip may be taken each day.
The captain must report the start of the fishing trip to the Coat Guard watch station. It is mandatory to have an automatic remote monitoring device on board.
The maximum number of hand reels on board is 4 and no other fishing gear may be carried.
Only 650 kg gutted weight of quota-based species in cod-equivalents may be caught each trip, and all catches must be landed at the end of the fishing trip and weighed by the harbour authorities.
A catch logbook must be submitted after each fishing trip.
