A young person aged 18 to 20, who has had continuous and permanent residence in Iceland since the age of 13, may acquire Icelandic citizenship by notifying the Directorate of Immigration.

Citizenship for young people aged 18–20.

A child or young person, who is stateless or has been granted international protection, and has had continuous and permanent residence in Iceland for at least three years, may acquire Icelandic citizenship by notifying the Directorate of Immigration before the age of 21.

Citizenship for children and young people who are stateless or refugees.
