Testing for substances
The Data Protection Act only covers the registration or processing of personal data in an organized manner. The Data Protection Act therefore does not cover the conduct of physical examinations such as drug testing. If the employer files personal data on the results of such tests or other related issues, then the processing is covered by the Act. The Data Protection Authority has published a report that reviews the main issues related to this.
