The Icelandic parliament, Alþingi, approved the bill and all efforts have been made by TR to ensure that the payment is received as soon as possible.

The lump sum will be paid to those who are entitled to disability or rehabilitation pension in 2024, 70,365 ISK. And to those pensioners who have 25 thousand ISK or less in income from non-TR per month, 70,365 ISK. If a pensioner has received a part of the year, the lump sum is in proportion to the person's payment rights in the year.

The individual payment of disability and rehabilitation benefits is not considered as taxable income and does not result in a reduction in other payments.

The pensioner's right to the single payment will be reviewed when the final information on the year's income is available at the annual settlement, which will generally take place in May 2025.
