Over ISK 20 billion paid in December

The number of customers who received payments in December is 74,475, including 45,407 (61%) women and 29,068 (39%) men.
The largest group receiving payments are elderly pensioners, 39,016, including 21,363 (55%) women and 17,653 (45%) men, and the second largest group are infirm pensioners, 19,359, including 11,837 (61%) women and 7,522 (39%) men. Rehabilitation pensioners were 2,840, including 1,805 (64%) women and 1,035 (36%) men.
Total payments in December amounted to ISK 20.6 billion, of which ISK 4.1 billion was in cash. Approximately ISK 9.8 billion was paid for old-age pensions, ISK 8.4 billion for disability, ISK 1.5 billion for rehabilitation and other payments amounted to ISK 0.9 billion.
The increase in payments in December is due to the December bonus and the single payment to incapacity and rehabilitation pensioners.
In the year, almost ISK 198 billion was paid, divided into approximately ISK 103 billion for senior citizens, ISK 71.5 billion for disability, ISK 13 billion for rehabilitation pensions and ISK 10.5 billion for other benefits. Over ISK 37 billion of the total payments went to cash.
