Single payment to incapacity and rehabilitation pensioners 2024

The Icelandic parliament, Althingi, has approved a bill on a single payment to incapacity and rehabilitation pensioners in the amount of ISK 70,364. The single payment will be granted to pensioners who are entitled to receive incapacity or rehabilitation pension in 2024.
If a pensioner has received a portion of the year's payment, the lump sum is in proportion to the person's payment entitlement during the year. The lump sum is not considered as taxable income for pensioners and does not result in a reduction in other payments.
The aim is to publish the law regarding the lump sum on December 5th and it will be paid immediately thereafter. If there are delays in the payment, you will be notified here on the page and on the Facebook page of TR.
