Changes in the coefficients for deferred or accelerated retirement
19th December 2024
From 1 January 2025, the coefficients based on actuarial calculation will change due to the flexible take-up of old-age pensions and household allowances.
The index has been adjusted for pensioners only, but after 1 January it will be adjusted for the year of birth and age in accordance with new life expectancy assumptions.
When the retirement pension is deferred, the amount of the pension, after the payments have been calculated, is increased permanently, proportionally based on this actuarial basis and is calculated from the age of retirement until the time the pension is taken.
It can be helpful for individuals who are considering taking a pension to look at what effect it has on the amount of the pension if they delay taking it.
There is also the possibility of accelerating the retirement age and starting at 65 instead of 67, and then the amount of the pension will be reduced proportionally permanently. This reduction is also based on actuarial calculations.
