Hollvinir - The Beneficiaries of Akureyri Hospital (SAk) recently donated a new respiratory measurement device to the Department of Physiology at SAk.
The new device, Vyntus One, enables various types of respiratory tests, including spirometry, gas diffusion tests, lung volume measurements, and oscillometry.
Enhanced Services – Fewer Trips to Reykjavík for Tests
“With the new device, we can better align lung function testing at SAk with those conducted at the National University Hospital in Reykjavík and improve collaboration with specialists based there. This addition allows us to expand services for individuals within SAk’s catchment area who would otherwise need to travel to Reykjavík for testing. Pulmonologists in Reykjavík can now receive test results from here, enabling greater potential for remote monitoring when suitable,” says Jónína Þuríður Jóhannsdóttir, senior physiologist at the Department of Physiology at SAk.
