Catch quota for the fishing year 2023/2024 has been allocated based on the catch share of fishing vessel, and 360 vessels owned by 282 parties received allocated catch quota. The allocation is almost 337 thousand cod value tons. Allocation in cod is over 166 thousand cod value tons, but was almost 164 thousand cod value tons in the last fishing year. Allocation in haddock is over 55 thousand cod value tons and increases by 7 thousand cod value tons between years.

• Ísfélag hf. 7.00%

• Samherji Iceland hf. 6.93%

• Fisk Seafood ehf. 6.14%

• Þorbjörn hf. 5.33%

Ships with the highest allocation:

• Guðmundur í Nesi RE 13 (2626), Útgerðarfélag Reykjavíkur hf. with 11,056 cod equivalent tons

• Sólberg ÓF 1 (2917), Ísfélag hf. with 9,840 cod equivalent tons

• Örfirisey RE 4 (2170), Brim hf. with 7,978 cod equivalent tons

5.3% is deducted from the total allowed catch is divided as follows:

• Shell and shrimp compensation 2,442 tons

• Regional quota for fishing vessels 6,500 tons

• Regional Development Institute quota is 6,584 tons

• Recreational fishing 200 tons

• Coastal fishing 11,100 tons

• Longline discount 2,025 tons
