Ísland.is with 7 nominations SVEF 2025

Digital Iceland projects received seven nominations for the Icelandic Web Awards 2025.


This includes the Ísland.is app nominated in the category of app of the year and the Ísland.is website in two categories and Digital Mailbox in two categories.
The number of visits to both the Ísland.is website and the Ísland.is app has increased dramatically. In 2024, Ísland.is received a record 28 million visits with the number of agencies uploading their content to the website growing rapidly. 52 agencies and public projects are now part of the Ísland.is community and almost 200 thousand have downloaded the Ísland.is app.
The government has set the goal that Iceland will be the leader in public digital services and surveys show that the work is progressing well. Digital services are already making life simpler for people, saving time and money while improving the service.
The nominations are:
Ísland.is app in the category App of the Year
Ísland.is in the category Public Web of the Year
Ísland.is in the category of Media and News web of the Year
Digital Mailbox in the category Public Web of the Year
Digital Mailbox in the Technology Innovation of the Year category
For Grindavík as Social responsibility web of the Year
Digital application for parental leave as Digital Solution of the Year
Seventy websites or digital solutions, are nominated in 14 categories this year. The number of categories reflects the wide range of projects the web and technology industry in Iceland is involved in. The award ceremony will be held for the 24th time on Friday 21st of March at Gróska, where projects and individuals who have excelled in the past year will be awarded.
The Association of the Icelandic Web Industry (SVEF) is the professional association that is involved in web solutions in Iceland, and the award is being presented by SVEF.
