Directorate of Immigration: Residence permits - Types
What are the special conditions for au-pair applicants coming directly from the Philippines?
At the demand of the Philippine government, Filipino citizens intending to leave the country must apply for a so-called "exit permit" from the local government.
These are not rules or obligations that are imposed by the Directorate of Immigration therefore the Directorate does not have detailed information about the process.
However, we do know that applicants for au pair permits have needed to submit an authenticated original of the au-pair placement contract with an application for an "exit permit". After a residence permit has been granted, the original of the contract can therefore be picked up at the Directorate of Immigration's office in Dalvegur 18.
The host family must take the au-pair placement contract to the District Commissioner's office for both authentication and apostille certification. If the host family consists of a married couple, both must show up and present their passports along with a photocopy of the passport of the prospective au pair.
Finally, the contract must be sent to the Philippine Embassy in Oslo for further authentication.
