Health protection and risk prevention plan
Evaluation of results
The employer must monitor whether the measures taken following a risk assessment have had the intended effect on employee safety and well-being, and whether further action is needed. It may be necessary to define indicators or metrics to evaluate the impact, as people sometimes assume something is effective when, upon closer inspection, it is not.
The employer is also responsible for regularly reviewing the risk assessment to ensure it remains relevant to the current conditions in the workplace. Both the risk assessment and the health protection and risk prevention plan must be continuously reviewed and adjusted.
It is recommended that this be done at least annually or whenever changes occur
Such as:
Changes in the work environment
Changes in how work is performed, including work methods, production processes, or workflow
Introduction of new workstations
Changes in the external environment around the workplace
Increased health risks beyond previously assessed levels
Use of new machinery or equipment
Use of new substances or chemical mixtures
Occurrence of accidents or near-misses
Incidents of bullying, harassment, or violence
It is important for employers to closely monitor whether the existing preventive measures are still effective and appropriate. Preventive efforts, like everything else, can become outdated over time.
