Health protection and risk prevention plan
In short
If a workplace risk assessment indicates that employees’ health and safety are at risk, the employer must immediately take necessary precautions and implement measures to reduce the risk through a health protection and risk prevention plan. This is a part of the overall workplace health and safety plan.
Scheduled prevention plan
Once the risk assessment is completed, a timed plan for prevention and safety measures must be created based on the results. Actions against bullying, harassment, and violence at the workplace must also be included in the health protection and risk prevention plan.
It's important to prioritize measures based on the severity of the risk. If work tasks are clearly hazardous, it's unacceptable to delay taking necessary action.
More about the scheduled prevention plan
Emergency plan
The emergency plan outlines the actions to be taken for first aid, fire response, and evacuation in case of emergencies. It must reflect the nature and size of the workplace. It should also specify which employees are responsible for implementing the plan, their training, and the equipment involved.
Evaluation of results
The effectiveness of the protective measures must be evaluated after a certain time and improved if needed. The schedule for follow-up on these measures must be specified.
The entire health and safety plan, including both the risk assessment and the prevention plan, must be regularly reviewed—especially if there are any changes. An annual review is recommended.
