Codes of conduct according to data protection legislation
Why codes of conduct?
The Data Protection Regulation recommends using agreed codes of conduct to help ensure proper application of the Regulation.
The code of conduct should reflect the needs of different sectors and companies.
Organisations representing certain industries or sectors may draw up such rules in order to give practical support to companies to adapt their activities to the Data Protection Regulation.
Companies are free to implement codes of conduct.
The implementation of codes of conduct under the Data Protection Act can help adapt the company’s operations to the law and demonstrate that the company complies with it.
