Automatic decision-making, personal profiling and data protection
More about profiling
Profiling is created when personal data is automatically processed to evaluate certain aspects of an individual's interest, in particular to identify or predict aspects of his/her job performance, financial position, health, taste, interests, reliability, behaviour, location or mobility. The information is often collected from different locations and arranged in a pattern that is intended to map the individual.
Data protection laws must be followed when creating a profile and the person who works with the information should inform the person concerned that he intends to create a profile for the person.
