Renewal of Home Accommodation Registration

If the intention is to continue offering home accommodation in the new calendar year, the registration must be renewed.

To renew the registration, the usage report must have been submitted.

The applicant and property must also meet the same conditions as required for initial registration.

Cost

The fee for renewing home accommodation registration is ISK 9,200.

Reasons for Denial

The renewal may be denied if the license holder fails to meet the conditions and obligations, such as:

• Failure to submit the usage report

• Repeated misuse of registration

• Not using the registration number in marketing materials

• The rental space does not meet the requirements (e.g., the rented space is in a garage instead of an apartment)

• The applicant has repeatedly been deregistered before

• The applicant does not have their legal domicile or is not the registered owner of the property
