On Monday 05.02.2024, employees of the Port State Control of the Icelandic Transportation Authority underwent surveillance on board the cargo ship Fethiye-M / IMO 9485899, docked at Grundartangi.

During the inspection serious comments were made about the condition of the ship and the ship was subsequently detained.

The detention will be lifted once the issues that were put out have been fixed.

Update: The detention was lifted on February 10 after satisfactory repairs.
