The bulk carrier Federal Spey - IMO 9610456 - was detained in Straumsvík on 5 July. The reason is that it was not possible to demonstrate the effectiveness of emergency equipment. The classification society and the flag state have been notified of the detention.
The detention will be lifted when the crew demonstrates adequate functioning of the emergency equipment.

Updated 7/7/2023: The detention has been lifted as repairs have been demonstrated. The ship is therefore allowed to sail.
