26th February 2025

We are pleased to announce that the book Search for the Money, a guide to financial independence has now been published. The book is a follow-up to the podcast Search for the Money produced by Kolbeinn Marteinsson for the Debtors’ Ombudsman, Gunnar Dofri Ólafsson, who supervised the show and are also the authors of the book. The book is published in collaboration with the UMS with support from the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The book is intended for all people who want to adopt better behavior when it comes to money and at the same time take the first step towards financial independence. The book is intended to be practical and inspiring for readers and is written for children of the boom years and for managers alike. The book contains 23 short chapters that cover various aspects of finance and focuses on things that people don’t necessarily consider when they think about finance. These include people’s attitude towards money, what habits they have developed and how all these things affect how individuals deal with challenges in their personal finances.

The book is for all those who want to adopt better behaviour when it comes to money and at the same time take the first step towards financial autonomy.

It is written for the children of the writer and the director.
