2024 in numbers
25th February 2025
In 2024, 749 applications for assistance were submitted to the Debtors Ombudsman because of financial problems, compared to 702 applications in 2023.

In recent years, the number of applications for assistance due to financial problems has decreased steadily and it is therefore considered common practice to increase the number of applications.
Most applicants are individuals who live in rental housing.
When the applications received in 2024 are examined, the most striking aspect is the increase in the number of property owners, which was 17% in 2024 and only 9% in 2023.
In addition, individuals employed make up 40% of applicants, whereas in 2023, 34% of applicants were employed.
The figures for the year show therefore increased attendance and a change in the group of people seeking assistance.
