Debtors Ombudsman - Annual Report 2023

In 2023, there were many special events in the history of the office, most notably the move to a new and better housing. Various good changes took place and further improvements were drafted in the office’s operations.

The Debtors Ombudsman is primarily a service agency and has the important role of providing assistance to individuals in financial difficulties. The UMS's emphasis is always that this service is accessible to all and free of charge.

The year was a busy one for the Office and 702 applications for assistance were received due to financial problems.

The Office also has a high educational obligation and emphasises disseminating information about the Office's services in a clear and accessible manner. General education about personal finances also occupies a large place in the Office's operations.
