Land and forests are advertising summer jobs

Land and Forest Iceland is recruiting research assistants for summer fieldwork, encompassing ecological monitoring and research in drylands, wetlands, and forests to support Iceland's climate accounting. We also require summer personnel for fencing projects in Northeast Iceland.
Research Assistant Position
This role requires significant domestic travel, often involving extended periods away from the office. Expect considerable fieldwork and long working hours. Candidates must be punctual, responsible, and possess a strong customer service orientation. A minimum of one year of completed university coursework in natural sciences or a related field is required.
Experience in fieldwork, plant analysis, soil science, forestry, and/or laboratory work is advantageous. A valid driver's license is preferred, and experience operating modified vehicles in challenging off-road conditions is a plus.

Summer fencing work in northeast Iceland
Land and Forest Iceland is also seeking a summer employee for fence maintenance and repair in Northeast Iceland. This position may also include assisting with other occasional projects such as seeding and planting.
The ideal candidate will be a flexible, self-motivated individual with strong organisational and teamwork skills, and sufficient written and spoken Icelandic. A valid driver's license (manual transmission) is required; a trailer license is preferred. Prior fencing experience is advantageous. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
