From Plant to Plank – The Annual Icelandic Forest Science Conference 2025
24th January 2025
The 2025 Icelandic Annual Forest Science Conference, Fagráðstefna skógræktar, will be held at Hotel Hallormsstaður on March 26th and 27th. The first day will focus on current advancements in forest planning, planting, management, and harvesting techniques in Iceland and internationally. A call for presentations and posters has been issued for the second day of the conference.
The Annual Icelandic Forest Science Conference, a collaborative effort between Land and Forest Iceland, the Agricultural University of Iceland, the Icelandic Forestry Association, the Icelandic Association of Foresters, and the Icelandic Farmers Association, serves as a key forum for knowledge exchange and discussion within the forestry and forest science sectors. Established at the turn of the millenium, the conference rotates its location annually between regions. Last year's conference was held in Akureyri, preceded by the conference in Ísafjörður.
The conference's first day will feature presentations and discussions focused on the designated theme.
The second day will offer a diverse range of presentations of any forest-related subject, including policy, research, education, innovation and technology. A draft agenda for the first day, subject to revision, is available and includes preliminary presentation titles.
