The rights protection office is an advocate to protect the legal and human rights of people with disabilities and to ensure that they are recognized as persons before the law.

Effective January 1, 2025, individuals with disabilities must contact the District Commissioners when appointing a personal spokesperson or revoking a power of attorney.
