Respiratory tract infections. Week 10 of 2023

Confirmed cases of Influenza, clinical diagnoses of Influenza-like illness, and confirmed COVID-19 infections were fewer in week 10 compared to previous weeks.

However, the number of admissions to Landspitali with/due to COVID-19 was higher in week 10 compared to week 9, whereas admissions due to Influenza and RSV were similar in number. Clinical diagnoses of scarlet fever are dropping. Clinical diagnoses of sore throat were fewer in week 10 compared to week 9, though these numbers have fluctuated in the past weeks. More were diagnosed with Rhinovirus in week 10 compared to previous weeks.
