The number of diagnoses of confirmed influenza was similar to the previous week. Over half of the influenza diagnoses at week 4 were of type B, a change from recent weeks.
The number of clinical diagnosis of influenza-like symptoms continues to decline. More than one case was diagnosed with COVID-19 in week 4 compared to week 3, and the proportion of positive samples also increased.
A surprisingly high number of people continue to be diagnosed with scarlet fever and sore throats compared to previous years. The number of Rhinovevirus diagnoses increased between weeks, while a similar number were diagnosed with RSV and hMPV.
The number admitted to Landspítali with or due to COVID-19 and RSV was slightly higher than in the previous week, but admissions due to influenza declined slightly.
