Do you drive a vehicle powered by electricity?
19th December 2023
The kilometer registration for cars powered by electricity is now open on Ísland.is My Pages and in the Ísland.is app.
In 2024 those who drive vehicles powered by electricity must pay a kilometer fee. This is part of a larger project in financing the road network in Iceland. Privately owned cars and vans that are powered by electricity partly or fully will pay a mileage fee, with the first due date beginning of February. Before this time, owners are encouraged to register their vehicle kilometer status to be as close as possible to the of vehicle's exact kilometer status. Registration is done on Ísland.is My pages and in the Ísland.is app, but not in both places for the same month, so you must select which side of the registration will be made.
