The International Day of Radiology 2022

The International Day of Radiology, is today, 8 November. The objective of the International Day of Radiology is to raise awareness of the importance of diagnosis and treatment using X-rays. This year, the focus is on building increased awareness of the value of X-ray radiation in the treatment and care of patients, as well as improving public understanding of the important role of radiologists and radiographers in healthcare.

It was on the 8. November 1895 that Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen first proved the existence of X-rays. The presence of X-rays has since been well understood, and have revolutionized health care, both in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
