Passport on My Pages on Ísland.is

You can now see information about your passport and the children in your custody under Licences on Ísland.is My pages.

There you can access general information such as name, gender, passport number, and period of validity. This will make it easier for people to access information from their passport or children in their custody, e.g., when booking flights.

Everyone must continue to carry their passport when traveling, for the information on My pages can not be used as an identification document.

Later this year, passport applications, as well as payment, will be fully digital on Ísland.is so applicants can finalize their application before going to the District Commissioners' office for a photo. It will also be possible to confirm custody by electronic means between the guardians. This simplifies the process for guardians who live in separate parts of the country, for example, or for other reasons, they cannot come to the application site with their child.

Also, work is underway on publishing the passport information in the Ísland.is app, witch will be introduced specifically when it is ready.
