Realtime closure no. 5 extended

Realtime closure No 5, the ban on fishing with midwater trawl that took effect at 18:00 o'clock on 29th of November 2022 has been extended until 18:00 o'clock on 20th of December 2022.

The exclusion zone is limited by the following coordinates:

The prerequisite for closure is that it can lead to harmful fishing, as the catch of Icelandic summer spawning herring was in excess of the fishing advice of the Marine and Freshwater Research Institute.
