Ticket sales for Connecting the state conference

Connecting the state is the annual conference of Digital Iceland, where the digital future of government is the topic.

This year's conference title is Digital Society, divided into the subcategories Digital Leadership, Digital Iceland and Digital Security. This year's conference is held in collaboration with a meeting of the Nordic Council of Ministers, where Iceland is chair. The Nordic and Baltic ministers will meet and discuss digital cooperation and leadership in the region. The special guest will be Clare Martorana, who is in charge of IT at the White House on behalf of the President of the United States. After a coffee break, representatives of each Nordic Council nation will present a message about digital priorities for the coming years, as well as sharing stories on successful projects. The core services of Digital Iceland and their development will be the main theme in Kaldalón following a coffee break. It will cover what is available for institutions, practical issues regarding implementation and functionality.

The conference will take place on 22 September from 12.30-17 both in Harpa and in streaming. Ticket sales have begun, with a ticket price of 4,900 kr., which applies to tickets in the hall as well as in streaming. Note that a limited number of tickets are available for those who wish to attend events taking place in Kaldalón.

100 thousand applications through Iceland.is

The Ísland.is application system reached the stage this August of exceeding 100 thousand applications during the year, with the growth seen in the figure above. The number of applications indicates how many users are satisfied with being able to apply digitally, thus reducing paper consumption and saving their way to the institutions. Examples of applications include digital driving, an application for an ES card, an application for maternity leave and for a long time. Digital applications are added to Iceland.is every month, so we can expect a continued increase in the use of the application system in Iceland.is.

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs is looking for a strong and experienced party to lead the digital transformation of the state. This will play a key role in the development and further development of digital public services.

Vehicle mileage

Information about vehicle mileage points is a new service that is available on My pages in Iceland.is and in the Ísland.is app. The information is received through web services directly from the basic systems of the Icelandic Transportation Authority.
