Digital Iceland advisory role

The core services of Digital Iceland are currently being implemented by a number of government agencies. Digital Iceland plays an advisory role and support for project management when it comes to large interdisciplinary projects. Examples of such projects include electronic registrations where district officials, borrowers and lenders join forces together. Same applies to team work to ensure digital accessibility for disabled people, powered by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Market in a group with Digital Iceland, Heilsuvera and Audkenni. Furthermore digital services aimed at older people are in process also powered by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Market with support from Ministry of Health and Digital Iceland.

Implementation status of four Ísland.is core services:

• Websites of government agencies: 13 websites have moved their website to Ísland.is and 26 institutions are in the process of moving their sites.

• Digital Mailbox: 65 public agencies are in the process of implementing the Digital Mailbox and 37 are already publishing.

• Application System: 15 organisations are using the Ísland.is Application system and others are on the way.

• Application System: 5.892 applications were submitted through the Application system in April - many more applications are being processed but this number completed the process.

• Authentication System: 25 public entities use the new Authentication system with 280.000 log-ins per month.

14 electronic records despite 1 May closure

14 borrowers paid up their housing and car loans on 1 May despite offices were closed due to public holiday. No driving and no paperwork!

Work is underway to close older Ísland.is authentication services and closing new registrations is a part of this process.

The rights and obligations of individuals from birth to death are according to Icelandic laws. Rights determine what an individual can demand from society, but obligations determine what requirements society can make of an individual.

Admin system on Ísland.is

The Admin system Ísland.is is a portal for organisations where they can manage users and view self-service systems for core products that are developed by Digital Iceland.

A new service has been added to Ísland.is for refugees from Ukraine. The police is the service provider of these notifications and manages all registration.
