Digital Iceland Academy
Digital Iceland Academy has been in development for the last few months, with courses being held for Digital Iceland partners. The goal is to empower staff and prepare teams for digital project management. The courses are also intended to coordinate work methods and strengthen Iceland.is society.
The courses offered are:
Digital Leader
Already 57 have attended this day-long course to support digital development within agencies, strengthen the Digital Iceland counterparts and prepare agencies for a digital journey.Digital consultant
6 consultants have already taken this 3-day course, which is intended to train consultants in supporting digital development and accelerating the digital journey of government.
Iceland content creation and accessibility
88 have already attended this 1.5-hour course, which supports all those who write conent on Ísland.is based on the Digital Iceland content and accessibility policy.
Ísland.is application system
22 have already attended this 1.5-hour course, which supports and supports civil servants in setting up applications in the Ísland.is application system.
Further information on Digital Iceland Academy courses, along with helpful information for all those involved in the Digital Iceland community, will be presented in further detail in the autumn.
The digital steps 2023
Recognition for Digital Steps was granted for the first time in 2022, with nine steps in total. A definition of each Digital Step and the status of public bodies in the spring can now be found on the Digital Iceland website. Recognition for the 2023 Digital Steps will be granted at Connecting States on 22 September. At the same time, the digital status of all public bodies will be updated.
Getting older on Ísland.is
Getting older is the latest life event on Ísland.is. The life event is part of a larger project intended to improve services for older people. The first step was to collect useful information that accompanies the life event and review the information and accessibility of the services available to older people.
Lost driver's license?
Everyone who has a quality photograph and signature in the driving license register can now apply for a new plastic driving license from Ísland.is. Those with older driving licenses must go to a District Commissioners' office with a new photo From January to May this year, a thousand people have gone to the District Commissioners office and ordered a new driving license, saving the future 200 people per month from driving.

Individuals can create and gather signatures digitally on Ísland.is. On Ísland.is My pages individuals can under the "My information" category see lists and petitions they have signed.
